WHAT WE DO
We Protect and Serve
The Petaluma Police Department provides professional law enforcement services to the community. We are proud to involve our community in many of our programs. Our team includes 101 employees. Leading the way is a Chief and a Deputy Chief. Under that leadership are 4 Lieutenants that oversee 9 Sergeants and approximately 65 officers. We also have several other support teams that handle police records, administration and dispatch. Our teams are trained in many specialties including K-9 officers, traffic patrol, SWAT, investigations and community service.
We work together and, in the community, following 6 guiding principles: Professionalism, Teamwork, Excellence, Leadership, Community & Winning Attitude.
