Meets: 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in the City Manager's Conference Room, City Hall, 11 English Street, Petaluma.
The Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee (PBAC) is charged with making recommendations for bicycle and pedestrian facilities in accordance with the Petaluma Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The PBAC is also responsible for developing bicycle and pedestrian projects and submitting them for final adoption by the Sonoma County Transportation Authority. Additionally, PBAC reviews development applications, solicits public comment and forwards bicycle and pedestrian related improvement recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council.
The committee has nine members, six of whom are appointed by Council from the community at large. The remaining members are a representative of the Recreation, Music, and Parks Commission, appointed by RMPC, a Planning Commission Representative, appointed by the Planning Commission, and a member of the City Council, appointed by the City Council. Members chosen from the community serve four-year terms. The representatives of RMPC, the Planning Commission, and City Council serve one-year terms.
Permits are an important part of how the City keeps buildings and spaces safe. Permits allow us to make sure construction meets codes, and are made to protect human life during a fire or earthquake.
